What is YC Cable?
YC rubber-sheathed cable, full name Heavy-Duty General-Purpose Rubber-Sheathed Flexible Cable, is a type of rubber-sheathed cable. YC cable is suitable for household appliances, power tools, various mobile electrical equipment, or light-duty mobile electrical devices with rated AC voltage up to 450/750 V, as well as for temporary construction use on job sites, and is capable of withstanding significant mechanical external forces. The long-term permissible working temperature of the conductor shall not exceed 60°C. Y stands for rubber insulation, and C stands for heavy-duty cable. The outer sheath is also rubber-insulated, and the conductor is copper wire. Rubber-sheathed cables are classified into heavy-duty cables (YC cables), medium-duty cables (YZ cables), and light-duty cables (YQ cables). High-quality YC cables feature insulation layers made of pure natural rubber and conductors made of oxygen-free copper rods with excellent electrical conductivity. However, most products currently available on the market fail to meet this quality standard to varying degrees.
YC cables are primarily multi-core cables, commonly available in 2-core, 3-core, 4-core, and 5-core configurations, with copper core cross-sectional areas ranging from 0.75 mm² to several tens of square millimeters.
